The Webber Independent School takes part in Bisi Badminton Programme

On Thursday 12th January 2017 The Webber Independent School of Soskin Drive, Milton Keynes took part in the Bisi Badminton Festival.

The festival is part of the Bisi Badminton Programme, which is designed to be a fun and engaging way for students to participate in sport, providing an interesting learning experience that can benefit their National Curriculum sporting studies.

Speaking about the festival, Mrs Hilary Marsden, Headmistress, said:

“We are enormously proud of our Year 3 and 4 students who competed in their first fixture of 2017, demonstrating great teamwork and improvement to their badminton skills.

We are always looking for ways to add further interest and diversity to the sporting programmes available to our students, and we felt this was an exciting opportunity not to be missed.  We continue to explore new ways to deliver innovative teaching and foster an engaging, friendly and focused learning environment for our students to achieve their best results.”

About The Webber Independent School

The Webber Independent School was founded in 1987 and is one of the county’s leading independent co-educational day schools for 3 to 18 year olds.  Conveniently located in central Milton Keynes, the school offers a varied National Curriculum and a wide range of extra-curricular activities. Its focus on high quality teaching, excellent pastoral care and integration of the latest methods in education, has seen the school achieve outstanding results and inspection reports. The school achieved 100% A*-C grades at A Level in 2016, with all students securing their first choice university. The Webber Independent School is rated 5* by the www.schoolguide.co.uk.

About The Bisi Programme

The Bisi Programme is endorsed by Badminton England and offers that first step to progress from beginning to medal winner.

Bisi Badminton is aimed at pupils who are beginning their physical education journey within the National Curriculum right through to those coming to the end of education within a school environment. Bisi activities and resources map closely to the National Curriculum Key Stages. The Primary resources cover Key Stages 1 and 2, the secondary resources cover Key Stages 3 and 4. Completing these Bisi activities will contribute towards pupils meeting National Curriculum expectations.  Badminton talent identification activities are also integrated into the units and these are included in the new Bisi Badminton Festival Tookits.
