The children in our Little Explorers room have been exploring different textures, sounds and colours while playing with sensory baskets. The children have been exploring items such as scarves, cones, shakers and blocks. This allows the Nursery practitioners to introduce lots of describing words such as fluffy, soft, hard and rough expanding our babies’ vocabulary. They have also extended this by exploring some organic resources such as food and bubbles and using lots of messy materials to create fantastic artwork. Archer, one of our smiliest new Little Explorers in our lovely baby room can be seen below enjoying the contents of a sensory basket of wonderful colours, sounds, shapes and textures. The wee ones also love the “tickly toes” feeling of the indoor grass in this exploring corner.
