Following on from the Little Adventurers growing their own butterflies, several of our Little Learners also became interested in the story `The Very Hungry Caterpillar` and the life cycle of the caterpillar.
In order to further extend the learning for our three and four year olds, key carers Laura and Olivia took the opportunity to have learning conversations with the children around the life cycle of caterpillars and what they would eat as food.
This lead to the children talking about where food comes from, what happens when they eat it (lovely colourful and detailed discussions about the process of digestion!) and this week we have looked at what happens when food is left uneaten.
Following a presentation all about 'The Process of Decay', the children have sliced some fruit and placed into magnifying pots so that they can observe the process of decay for themselves over a brief period of time.
