In many countries throughout the world, learning multiple languages is simply a part of everyday life. A growing body of research suggests that there are significant benefits to being exposed to a second language as a child.
Being exposed to a second language at home or at School can help children:
- Become effective communicators,
- Boost creativity and problem solving skills,
- Be better multi-taskers,
- And help promote cultural awareness and tolerance.
As part of our La Francophonie celebrations our Nursery children have been learning some French words!
Ms Barratt, our specialist French teacher, held a French lesson for the children helping them learn some simple words and phrases. The Nursery Children loved singing and playing repetition games in order to learn some colours in French.
Our Nursery Children benefit from regular French lessons with Ms Barratt, where they work on expanding their vocabulary through fun games and songs.
