Students at The Webber Independent School performed extremely well across all subjects, with 47.22% achieving 9 to 7.

Tharsan Baskaran was most pleased with his top three grades, achieving 9s in Maths, Physics and c=Chemistry, saying:  “I’m so happy, the build-up to this day has been intense and I am really pleased that I’ve done so well. I can’t thank my teachers and parents enough for their support in preparing me for my GCSEs.”

Mrs Baskaran, said: “I am so proud of Tharsan, he has worked so hard and I’m glad the results reflect his efforts.”

Joshua Anderson was smiling about his results, achieving two 9s, three 8s and two 7s. He said:  “I just can’t stop smiling, before joining Webber I didn’t believe I had it in me to do so well in my exams. I so pleased with my results, and I am looking forward to returning to the Sixth Form in September.”

Miss Faye Anderson, said: “I cannot describe how proud I am of Josh, even more so because in the two short years since changing schools he has reached an academic level we didn’t think possible. He has really flourished at Webber and I would like to thank all of the teachers at the School who have supported and encouraged Josh to reach his full potential.”

Kavin Muhunthan, who has been with The Webber Independent since he was three years old, was delighted with his results. He commented: "I can't believe my results; I've done really well. I achieved two 9s in Maths and Physics, three 8s in Biology, English Literature and English Language and five 7s in Further Maths, German, Geography, PE and Chemistry. I really couldn't have asked for more. I'd like to thank my mum and my tutors for all their help and support."

Mrs Muhunthan said: "I am very proud of my son as he has performed brilliantly in all the ten subjects. He has had outstanding teachers throughout his school life at Webber for all his subjects."

Commenting on her results, Eliza Chinn, said: “I am really happy with all of my grades especially my 9 in Physics and my six 8s in French, Geography, German, Latin, Maths and Spanish. I’m looking forward to celebrating my success before studying for my A Levels. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Webber and I would like to thank my tutors for their encouragement and for providing a great learning environment.”

Mrs Julia Chinn, comments:  “Eliza is such a wonderful girl, she works so hard and applies maximum effort to all that she does. It’s such an emotional time and I’m so glad that she achieved results deserving of her efforts. Thank you to the Webber Independent for being an extended family and supporting us through the years.”

Speaking about the School’s performance, Headmistress, Hilary Marsden said:

“All of our students should be really proud, these are our best ever GCSE results! As individuals, their achievements and attitudes will open up opportunities as they move forward in their educational and life journey. We wish them all the best for their future endeavours.”

Mrs Marsden continued: “I’d like to take this opportunity to thank all of the teaching and support staff for their commitment and focus in helping our students achieve their potential.”
