Due to the outstanding generosity of our Webber Family we have been able to donate a huge amount of festive produce to the MK Food Bank to help support families in need over the Christmas period.
The children from Nursery to Year 11 had been asking parents to help them shop or raid the store cupboards at home collecting their donations in their Forms classes.
Last Friday with the help of our Student Executive Team and Year 10 Prefects we created a 'human chain' to load up the Webber Mini Bus, the boxes and bags of donations where stacked from floor to ceiling!
The twelve shopping trollies full of donations will be invaluable and greatly appreciated in fighting food poverty in Milton Keynes, especially during the festive period. This year the Food Bank has seen an unprecedented rise in the number of families being referred for support as job losses continue to bite.
Giving back the local community is incredibly important to all us here at The Webber, by reaching out and lending a helping hand our young people can see how their donations make a significant difference to other families, children and local people just like them.
Thank you for your overwhelming support and generosity, it is amazing to see our MK Food Bank donations get bigger and bigger each time!
