Webber Independent School Celebrates GCSE Success as Class of 2026 Looks to Bright Futures

There is plenty to celebrate at Webber as our Class of 2026 marks another excellent set of GCSE results, with 95.8% of results being at grades 9-4.

Results Day is always such a special moment for our school community, and this year is no exception. We are incredibly proud of everything our Year 11 pupils have achieved, with their results reflecting years of hard work, determination and ambition, alongside the support and encouragement of our fantastic teaching and pastoral teams.

This year, 95.8% of results attained were grades 9-4, while 37.5% of grades achieved sat at 9-7, continuing our strong record of achievement at GCSE and giving our pupils a fantastic foundation for whatever comes next. We also recorded a strong value-added score of +0.46, with pupils achieving above their expected outcomes on average and many securing results up to two grades higher than predicted.

Of course, for us, success at Webber has always been about much more than the grades on a results sheet. One of the most exciting parts of Results Day is hearing about where our pupils are heading next, and this year our Class of 2026 will be progressing to a fantastic range of prestigious sixth forms, colleges, schools, specialist providers and apprenticeship pathways, both here in Milton Keynes and further afield.

Among the many individual successes we are celebrating this year, we are delighted to share that Nicolo achieved an outstanding set of results, including six 9’s and four 8’s, with Lily also securing an excellent set of results, achieving four 9’s and one 8. Jeanie proudly celebrates four 9’s and three 8’s, to go alongside the 9 she achieved in Chinese last year. These are just three of the many brilliant achievements across our Class of 2026, each with their own story of hard work, progress and ambition behind them.

Our Headmistress, Hilary Marsden, who was recently named Headteacher of the Year at the Milton Keynes Education Awards, shared her pride in the Class of 2026 and everything they have achieved during their time at Webber.

“Today is a very special moment for our Year 11 students and their families, and I could not be prouder of everything they have achieved. These results represent many years of commitment, perseverance and hard work, and every one of our pupils deserves to celebrate.”

“While we are enormously proud of their academic achievements, a Webber education has always been about much more than examination grades. Our aim is to help young people leave us as confident, articulate, resilient and compassionate individuals, equipped with the skills and character they need to thrive in the next stage of their lives.”

“It is wonderful to see our students progressing to such an exciting range of sixth forms, colleges, schools, apprenticeships and specialist pathways. We look forward to following their journeys and seeing where their ambitions take them next.”

During their time at Webber, our Class of 2026 have thrown themselves into everything school life has to offer. Alongside their academic studies, they have represented Webber in sport, taken part in music and drama, embraced STEM opportunities, completed Duke of Edinburgh activities, stepped into leadership roles and made a real contribution to our wider school community. That wider experience is a really important part of what we want a Webber education to offer. Our small classes, individual support and high expectations help pupils achieve academically, but just as importantly, we want them to leave us with the confidence, resilience and character to make the most of whatever comes next.

As our Class of 2026 gets ready to say goodbye to Webber and begin an exciting new chapter, we could not be prouder of them. A huge congratulations to every one of our Year 11 pupils – we can’t wait to see where their next steps take them!
