Taking Control of Your Future: Dr Mark Prince OBE Inspires Webber Pupils

On Wednesday, our Year 9, 10 and 11 pupils welcomed Dr Mark Prince OBE, former professional boxing champion, motivational speaker and founder of the Kiyan Prince Foundation, for a powerful and inspiring session.

Mark founded the Foundation following the tragic death of his 15-year-old son, Kiyan, who was fatally stabbed while trying to protect a friend. The charity works with young people to raise awareness of knife crime and exploitation, while helping them recognise their own value, build resilience and make positive choices.

Through his powerful personal story and life coaching, Mark encouraged pupils to take control of their future, be the best version of themselves and understand that they are in control of their own choices. As part of our PSHE curriculum, pupils explored important themes including knife crime, exploitation, consequences, self-worth and personal responsibility. Mark also encouraged pupils to consider the influence of the people around them, the decisions they make and the impact those choices can have on their future.

His honest and personal approach really resonated with our pupils, creating plenty of opportunities for reflection and discussion. The session was a valuable reminder that every young person has the ability to make positive choices, value themselves and take ownership of the direction they want their lives to take.

A huge thank you to Dr Mark Prince OBE for sharing his story, his experiences and his message with our pupils, and for inspiring them to take control of their future and be the best they can be. Read more about the Kiyan Prince Foundation here.
