We were delighted to attend the Milton Keynes Education Awards on Friday 19th June, an event that celebrates excellence across the education sector and recognises the individuals and teams who make a lasting difference to the lives of children and young people throughout Milton Keynes. It was a wonderful evening dedicated to acknowledging the passion, commitment and achievements of those working in education, and we are incredibly proud to share that our Headteacher, Hilary Marsden, was named Headteacher of the Year.
This prestigious award is a fitting recognition of Hilary’s exceptional leadership, dedication and unwavering commitment to our school community. Throughout her time at The Webber Independent School, she has consistently championed high standards, nurtured a culture of ambition and kindness, and worked tirelessly to ensure that every pupil is given the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.
What makes this achievement particularly special is Hilary’s humility and commitment to teamwork. While accepting the award, she was quick to turn the spotlight away from herself and onto the wider school community. She dedicated the accolade to the staff, pupils and parents who work together every day to create the supportive, aspirational and caring environment that defines The Webber Independent School. She spoke passionately about the collective effort that lies behind every success, highlighting the importance of strong relationships, shared values and a commitment to helping every child reach their full potential. Her words reflected what so many of us already know: that the strength of our school lies in the people who make up our community and the partnerships that support our pupils on their educational journey.
Under Mrs Marsden’s leadership, The Webber Independent School has continued to flourish, providing an inspiring learning environment where children are encouraged to be curious, confident and compassionate. Her vision, energy and genuine belief in every child have had a profound impact on generations of pupils and families, helping to shape not only academic success but also personal growth and wellbeing. This award is not only a recognition of Hilary’s outstanding contribution to education, but also a celebration of the values and ethos that underpin our school. It reflects the dedication of our exceptional staff team, the enthusiasm of our pupils and the ongoing support of our families.
We would like to extend our sincere congratulations to all of the nominees and winners recognised at the Milton Keynes Education Awards. It was an honour to celebrate alongside so many inspiring individuals who are making a positive difference within education. Most importantly, we offer our heartfelt congratulations to Hilary. This recognition is richly deserved, and we are immensely proud to see her commitment, leadership and passion acknowledged in this way.
Congratulations, Mrs Marsden – and thank you for the inspiration, care and dedication you bring to our school every day.
