At The Webber Independent School, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom. While academic achievement is a cornerstone of our success, it’s the vibrant enrichment and co-curricular life that truly sets our students apart.
Every child is more than just their exam results. They’re a performer, a scientist, a leader, an athlete a changemaker — and our role is to help them discover and nurture those many sides of themselves. That’s why co-curricular life at Webber isn’t a bolt-on — it’s an integral part of who we are. From Reception through to Year 11, children are encouraged to explore an exciting and ever-evolving programme of clubs, societies, trips, and leadership opportunities. With dozens of clubs and enrichment opportunities running across the school week — including robotics, debate club, performing arts, chess, Young Enterprise, creative writing and competitive sport — there’s truly something for every interest.
In our recent ISI Inspection, inspectors praised the “exceptional breadth of opportunities available to pupils,” noting how students “demonstrate enthusiasm, independence and leadership in their co-curricular pursuits.” This is echoed by parents too; 94% of Webber parents agreed that their child benefits from a well-rounded school experience, with many commenting on how co-curricular life had unlocked new passions in their children. Whether it’s performing on stage, representing Webber in competitive sports leagues, or working towards their Duke of Edinburgh Award, our students are constantly developing the skills that will serve them for life — teamwork, communication, creativity and resilience.
Student voice is at the heart of our enrichment programme. Pupils regularly contribute ideas, lead initiatives and even create their own clubs — from sustainability projects to cultural awareness days. Our student leadership and prefect programme offers another layer of opportunity, helping pupils develop confidence, responsibility and the ability to inspire others. Educational visits and residential trips — both locally and abroad — enrich classroom learning and expand worldviews. From theatre outings and science expos, to ski trips and language adventures, our calendar is bursting with unforgettable experiences that bring learning to life.
At The Webber, we know that some of the most valuable lessons take place outside of the classroom. It’s in those moments — rehearsing for a show, scoring a goal, leading a fundraiser — that confidence is built, friendships are strengthened and talents shine. We invite you to come and see this vibrant, holistic life in action — because at The Webber, education goes far beyond academics. Book your personal visit here, and begin your Webber journey.
