Prep

At The Webber Independent School, our Prep School offers a rich, balanced and inspiring education designed to help every child thrive. From Reception through to Year 6, we combine the structure of the English National Curriculum with a personalised, child-centred approach that ensures every pupil is supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their full potential.

Every child learns differently. Through our Stage Not Age approach, teaching is adapted to meet individual needs so each pupil is appropriately stretched and fully supported. Small class sizes (capped at 20) and degree-qualified specialist teachers mean every child is known well, with tailored guidance and meaningful feedback at every step.

Our Prep journey is carefully sequenced to meet children where they are:

Reception

A calm, nurturing start to school life, following the EYFS framework’s seven areas of learning.

Years 1 & 2

Curiosity nurtured and foundational skills strengthened through hands-on, specialist teaching across the core and wider curriculum.

Years 3 to 6

A pivotal stage where pupils develop greater independence, responsibility and academic depth, supported by over 50 enrichment opportunities, Modern Foreign Languages, Computing & Digital Literacy and our Eco Garden.

Alongside academic progress, we place equal importance on creativity, wellbeing and personal development, helping every child to grow into a confident communicator, an independent thinker, a creative problem-solver, a resilient learner and a collaborative team member.

By the end of Prep, our pupils are confident, capable and well-prepared for the next stage of their education. Explore the links below to discover more about our Prep curriculum and each stage of the journey.
