After the unprecedented five months of academic disruption and uncertainty Webber Independent School families and staff are pleased to celebrate the announcement of the GCSE results alongside their students.
This Year 11 Cohort is celebrating 95% Grades 4+ including English and Mathematics, with a very impressive 38% of the students achieving Grades 8 and 9.
Head Girl Naimh Bewick was top scorer with 6 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s and our Head Boy Lewis Johnson is the best Value Added. Lewis lived up to his full potential through his outstanding work ethic and dedication to learning. He achieved an excellent cluster of Grade 8 and 9s.
Proud parents of Ashwati Nair who achieved a remarkable 5 Grade 9s and 4 Grade 8s, whilst also playing badminton at national level representing Great Britain and traveling all over Europe during her studies, said of her experience at Webber; " Thank you all the staff at Webber who helped me to balance both my studies and badminton. The school created an environment where I could continue to grow without stress or fear."
Mrs Crompton, who has three children who have come to Webber over the last 17 years; " Amazing, thank you to all the staff for their hard work and encouragement, particularly through this last difficult time to help to prepare my son so well for the next stage in his education, We are so sad to be finally leaving Webber after such a long and happy time with all 3 of our children. It's the end of an era for our family but lots of wonderful times and memories."
Headmistress, Mrs Hilary Marsden praised the resilience and wonderful commitment to learning demonstrated by this exceptional group of young people. When we closed our doors at Webber on 23 March, we opened Virtual Webber and all our classes for all children from Reception to Year 11 continued live video teaching online. Our Year 11 students, our dedicated staff and supportive families were fully committed to continuing their GCSE preparation and investing in their futures and demonstrated exceptional focus and adaptability which has certainly paid off for them. Our Webber Year 11s were logging in every morning and putting in a full day's learning each and every day. This will really put them in a great position for moving on to their choice of A level study and beyond into the top universities."
We are delighted that they have all achieved the results that they have worked so exceptionally hard for over the last two academic years. All students have been accepted into their College and Sixth Forms of first choice with these brilliant grades. They have been a delight to teach and we are very proud of them all.
At The Webber Independent School we focus on preparing our young people for a changing world. The jobs of today will not be the jobs of the future, which is why we focus on initiating change. We will equip your son or daughter with the right mindset, skills and qualifications to stand out and thrive in the competitive world of tomorrow.
