our virtual admissions process

Thank you for your interest  in The Webber Independent School. Whilst the world may have temporarily stopped, planning for your child's education and development should not, and we are delighted to welcome you virtually to our school.

Following the UK Government announcement to close schools on 23 March, we are unfortunately not able to welcome prospective families to the school. However, during the school closure period, we have ensured a virtual admissions process is in place to provide families who are considering The Webber Independent School with the information they need.

We hope that our website, videos, photos and prospectus give you a flavour of what The Webber Independent School has to offer, and we will be delighted to welcome you to the school as soon as we possibly can.

Hilary Marsden, Headteacher

Our virtual admissions process is outlined below.

We look forward to meeting you and learning more about your child, albeit virtually for the time being.

1. Making an Initial Enquiry

We invite you to contact our Admissions Registrar Mrs Sandra Murchison on registrar@webberindependentschool.co.uk or complete our online enquiry form. Mrs Murchison will send you our online prospectus and discuss the next steps in our admissions process. She will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have at this stage.

2. Virtual Meeting with the Headmistress

We invite you to meet with the Headmistress, Mrs Marsden virtually via Zoom video calls. In the meeting, you will be able to discuss the needs of your child and ask questions about how The Webber Independent School can help nurture and develop your child's talents and abilities. Depending on which year group your child would be joining, we will also ensure you meet relevant members of our team virtually.

3. Registration and Assessment

Following a meeting with the Headmistress, we will invite you to Register for a place at The Webber Independent School. We will discuss how your child will be assessed depending on the year group they would be joining. For children who are joining, we will ask for their last two full school reports and a reference from your child's current school.

4. Offer and Acceptance

Once we have reviewed the information provided, we will be able to confirm whether we are able to offer a place for your child. We will then send a formal offer letter together with our Terms and Conditions, Form of  Acceptance and Medical Declaration Form, which you will need to sign and agree to in order to accept a place.

5. Virtual Learning

Once you have accepted a place at The Webber Independent School your child will be invited to join immediately with our Google Classroom online learning platform.  This platform has enabled us to continue to run the normal school timetable through face to face video lessons and live online pupil/teacher interactions.  Our excellent pastoral support has continued during this challenging time for families with twice daily Form Tutor and personal/social/health and citizenship sessions to ensure wellbeing.

Virtual Webber has delivered excellent teaching and learning to our students since the closure of the school and has been warmly welcomed and very much appreciated by both parents and students.  Parents accepting a place and joining The Webber Family before September will be offered a 30% reduction in fees for the remainder of this current academic year.
